Veterans License Fee Waiver Program – Mortgage Loan Originator
Under the Veterans License Fee Waiver Program established by Wisconsin Act 209 (effective July 1, 2012), veterans who apply for an initial license as a mortgage loan originator may receive a one-time waiver of the application fee. The fee waiver does not apply to renewal applications.
Since the license application of a mortgage loan originator is processed through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (“NMLS”), you should choose the NMLS application that is titled “Mortgage Loan Originator (Wisconsin Veterans).” You should obtain your fee waiver voucher number prior to applying for your license through NMLS. Once the Wisconsin DFI staff begins the review of the Wisconsin Veterans Mortgage Loan Originator application, the DFI staff will request the voucher code from the applicant which the applicant obtains from the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs (WDVA). If the Department of Veterans Affairs voucher code is not valid, the application will be denied.click here for more Veterans License Fee Waiver information
