Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions has Announced their New Deputy Secretary

(Madison)Lorrie Keating Heinemann, Secretary of DFI has appointed John R. Collins of Pleasant Prairie as the new Deputy Secretary for the Department of Financial Institutions (DFI).

"John brings management and government experience to this position and I look forward to having him as a senior manager at the Department," Keating Heinemann said.

"I know John Collins shares in the commitment of strengthening Wisconsin's economy and understands the important role DFI plays in maintaining confidence in Wisconsin's market," Governor Doyle said.

Since 2000, Collins has been a policy advisor for the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD) where he was involved in conducting a statewide review of Wisconsin's Job Center network and participated in efforts to better integrate the delivery of workforce and economic support programs. Prior to his work at the DWD, Collins was the Kenosha County Executive for 12 years.

Collins was born in Stambaugh, Michigan and raised in Kenosha. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in 1968. Collins has been active in several statewide and regional organizations. He is currently a member if the Kenosha Area Business Alliance, Kiwanis Club of Western Kenosha, and on the Board of Directors for the Spanish Center of Racine-Kenosha.

He is married to Gayle, and has two children, Adam and Emily.

Keating Heinemann is also pleased to announce the appointments of Michael Mach as Administrator of the Division of Banking, and Patricia Struck as Administrator of the Division of Securities.
