Robert M. Turner Convicted of Fraudulent Broker License
(Madison) Robert M. Turner of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin was found guilty
in Dane County Circuit Court of three counts of acting as a mortgage broker
without a license. The charges stemmed from a cease and desist issued
by the Department of Financial Institutions (DFI) Division of Mortgage
Banking. Assistant District Attorney Ann Sayles prosecuted the case.
After investigation by Jennifer Davenport, a DFI Mortgage Banking Examiner,
DFI turned the case over to the District Attorney's (DA) office and charges
were then filed against Turner. As a result of the conviction Turner was
placed on probation for two years and ordered to pay restitution to his
victims.
