Secretary Heinemann to Represent Governor Doyle at Sheboygan
Money Smart Week WisconsinSM Kick-Off
(Madison) Sheboygan—Department of Financial Institutions
Secretary Lorrie Keating Heinemann will represent Governor Jim Doyle as
a speaker at the Sheboygan Money Smart Week WisconsinSM kick-off luncheon
on Monday, October 2.
The event is the official launch of Sheboygan-area activities for the
initiative which runs October 2-7, 2006 across the state. It is the first
statewide campaign in the nation to focus on improving financial literacy.
Money Smart Week WisconsinSM will feature events for citizens of all
ages—from basic “understanding money” classes in schools
to “Wise and Safe Investing” seminars for adults.
Money Smart Week WisconsinSM was launched less than six months ago by
Governor Doyle’s Council on Financial Literacy, which works with
the Governor to improve financial literacy in the state. It has been a
successful, cooperative financial education initiative that now includes
more than 230 partners and features nearly 450 events, programs and activities
across the state.
Other speakers include Susan P. Beacham, co-founder and CEO of Money
Savvy Generation.
