DFI Supports 9th Annual Milwaukee Money Conference

(Madison) DFI Secretary Lorrie Keating Heinemann said today that DFI would support the ninth Annual Milwaukee Money Conference^TM. The event takes place Saturday, April 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Business and Economics Academy of Milwaukee (BEAM), 3814 West North Avenue. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m.

The event provides an opportunity to hear two featured speakers. Jeremy White, author of In His Shadow: Growing Up with Reggie White will be keynote speaker. Evrod Cassimy, TV news personality and recording artist, will act as master of ceremonies.

“The Milwaukee Money Conference is a great place for families to get impartial financial information they trust from experts. I encourage everyone to attend,” said Secretary Heinemann.

The event offers impartial financial education programming for families in a motivational setting. It provides several one-hour sessions for both personal finance novices and more advanced money managers. Adult sessions include “Credit Problems . . . How Can You Fix Them,” “Homeownership 101,” “Cash Flow Game,” “Earning Beyond Your Day Job—Intro to Entrepreneurship” and “Investing 101—Start the CLIMB.” Youth sessions include “Dollars and Sense,” “Needs vs. Wants,” “Starting Your Own Business” and others.

Adult participants at the Money Conference^TM get a free copy of their credit report that includes their credit score and can meet one-on-one with a credit expert. The event includes a continental breakfast and lunch. Limited free childcare for ages two through six is available only for those pre-registered for the conference. Registration and continental breakfast for the Money Conference^TM start at 7:30 a.m. Advance registration fees are $5 for adults and $2.50 for youth (under 18 years). Walk-ins who are adults will be charged $7.50 at the door and walk-ins who are youth will be charged $5.00 at the door.
