Fox Cities to Take Part in 2009 Money Smart Week Wisconsin^SM

(Madison) The Fox Cities Money Smart Week Wisconsin planning team will hold three featured events as part of its activities for the 2009 Money Smart Week Wisconsin campaign.

They include:

• The Big Read, Saturday, October 10 at libraries around the Fox Cities area
• Money Smart Wisconsin Fox Cities Celebration!!—Banjonomics by Mark Schug (Five Simple Rules for Family Financial Success), Monday October 12, from 6:30 p.m-8:30 p.m. at the Radisson Paper Valley
• Back to School Again-Financial Aid Workshop that will run from 6:00 p.m-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 14 at Fox Valley Technical College.

Money Smart Week Wisconsin, created by Governor Doyle’s Council on Financial Literacy, was the first statewide financial literacy social awareness campaign in the country when it began in 2006. Its goal is to improve the financial literacy of Wisconsin citizens. It is modeled after similar campaigns run by the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago in the cities of Chicago and Detroit. The Fox Cities planning group is one of 21 in the state this year.

Money Smart Week Wisconsin 2009 will run October 10-17, 2009.
