How To Protect Yourself From Being Victimized By Investment Fraud
Financial Regulator Offers Investment Fraud Seminar to Public

MADISON - The Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions (DFI) is reminding investors to be wary of schemes and scams which promise riches but deliver rip-offs and fraud by presenting a free seminar on Tuesday, September, 26 in Manitowoc and Sheboygan counties.

" Today there are more scams than ever and unwitting investors lose billions of dollars annually to investment fraud," said DFI Secretary John F. Kundert. "Our Your Money Matters financial educational seminars are available to citizens to help teach them how to be better prepared at protecting themselves against con artists," added Kundert.

The seminars will cover such things as:

  • What financial con artists don't want you to know
  • The top six types of investment fraud
  • Steps on how to avoid becoming a victim of investment fraud

Randall Schumann will be presenting the seminars. Mr. Schumann works in DFI's Division of Securities, and has over 30 years of experience as a Legal Counsel in regulating the state's securities industry.

Both seminars will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2000, at:

10:00 a.m
Sheboygan Senior Center
428 Wisconsin Avenue
Sheboygan, WI
and 1:30 p.m
