Frederick Kasten, Jr. to Repeat as Honorary Chair of Governors Summit on Capital

(Madison) Governor Scott McCallum has appointed G. Fredrick Kasten, Jr., chairman of Robert W. Baird & Co. (Baird), to again serve as the honorary chair of the Governor's Summit on Capital: 2002.

"I am very pleased to have Fred Kasten once again lead this conference," says Governor Scott McCallum. "His efforts last year helped effectively launch the event and make it an overwhelming success. His presence this year provides continuity to the efforts of the many people committed to making this Summit Wisconsin's most important business-growth forum."

The Summit is scheduled for March 19-20 at the Midwest Express Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This year's event will focus greater attention on national and regional perspectives, ways to continue improving the state's capital networking infrastructure and on the progress made since last year's inaugural event.

Mr. Kasten is chairman and a member of the board of directors of Robert W. Baird & Co., an international wealth management, investment banking, asset management and private equity firm. He joined Baird in 1963, became president in 1979 and rose to chief executive officer in 1983. He will assist Summit organizers by getting sponsors for the Governor's Summit on Capital.
