Canceling a Transaction

Consumers have the right to cancel a transaction that exceeds $25 when the sale originated at the consumer's home through a face-to-face solicitation, or by telephone call or mail directed to the consumer. The right to cancel also applies to a sale of a merchant's temporary location, such as, a hotel or fair.

The merchant is required to give the customer a written notice of the right to cancel. To exercise the right, the customer must notify the merchant in writing to cancel the agreement.
