Wisconsin Notary Online Application

Requirement for becoming a Wisconsin Notary:

4yr / Permanent Requirements

Prepopulated forms will be Emailed to you with instructions for printing. Forms must be completed (as indicated below), upload and then you will be allowed to pay.

  • Application - After printing complete with stamp and signatures. Both 4yr / Permanent
  • Purchase an engraved official seal or official rubber stamp that contains “State of Wisconsin”, “Notary Public” and your printed name that must include your full current last name. No title such as “Dr.”, “CPA”, “Esq.” or “Atty.” should appear before or after your name. Both 4yr / Permanent
  • Oath of Office - After printing complete in front of a current notarial officer with stamp and signatures. 4yr only
  • Bond - After printing complete #1 signature and send to bonding company to complete #7-#13. 4yr only
  • Purchase a $500 bond (see above) 4yr only
  • Notary Exam Certificate – Passing exam with 90% or better within one year of applying (must print or save certificate- to be uploaded). 4yr only
  • Purchase a Certificate of Good Standing from the Wisconsin Supreme Court (this will cost $3 from the Clerk of the Supreme Court) that must be dated within 2 months of submission of your notary application. Permanent only
  • Pay the filing fee using your credit card (only allowed after all items are uploaded). Both 4yr / Permanent
